Stott Park Bobbin MillSUITABLE FOR
To mark the 50th anniversary of the closure of Stott Park Bobbin Mill as a commercial mill, the iconic steam boiler will once again be running over the weekend of the 15th October – the date that the Mill closed back in 1971.
This unique historical time-capsule, set on the shores of Lake Windermere showcases a period of change, as machinery developed through time. The steam mill will run giving an idea of the journey from tree to bobbin. Perfect for families, the demonstration provides an immersive experience hearing, seeing and smelling just what a bobbin mill was like.
You can find out more about the history of Stott Park here.
The steam engine will be running from 10:00am until 4:00pm, and entrance to the working part of the mill will be showcased through timed guided tours.
