Join us for a fun-filled history weekend at Wrest Park! Step back in time to Queen Victoria’s Jubilee in 1887 as we host a celebratory show…and you’re invited! Experience a popular Victorian entertainment, a ‘Pageant of Memories’, where kings and queens from different eras take to the arena to battle in thrilling melees and jousts throughout the day.
Discover life in a Victorian Kitchen with talks, displays and interactive opportunities and take part traditional Victorian games.
Victorian gardeners will tell you all about the life and death of the garden with talks, activities and plays. Enjoy live music, Punch & Judy performances and play with Victorian toys.
As you take part in the celebrations look out for the mighty monarchs around the grounds and say hello!
As well as our History in the Park activities, there’s lots more to enjoy at Wrest Park:
- Explore the ground floor rooms of the French-style house.
- Venture inside the baroque Archer Pavilion with its magnificent wall paintings.
- Let off steam in the play area – perfectly located next to the café in the kitchen garden.
- Look out for unusual garden features like the Chinese bridge, the rustic bath house and the pet cemetery deep in the woods.
With so much to see and do all day long, Wrest Park's History in the Park is a fun-filled, action-packed, great value day out for the whole family.

Price Notes
Admission to this event is in addition to the standard admission ticket price and there is an extra cost for members.
You don’t need to book your visit in advance, but you will always get the best price and guaranteed entry by booking online ahead of your visit. If you purchase a walk up ticket on the day of the event, the ticket price will be higher than those listed above.

Please make sure you bring your booking confirmation with you when you visit. If you are a Member please remember to bring your English Heritage Membership card. Members are able to book event tickets at the Member rate for those included in the membership only.
