The North West Regional Office is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday throughout the year. We are closed at weekends, on Bank Holidays and between Christmas and the New Year.
What we do
The North West regional team fulfils English Heritage’s role as the Government's statutory adviser on the historic environment in the North West region.
The regional team is led by the Regional Director, Henry Owen-John.
Our advice and grants work is divided into 2 teams; a North Team that covers Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester, and a South Team that covers Merseyside and Cheshire.
We give expert advice on ancient monuments, listed buildings, planning, architecture and design and community outreach work. Our casework staff give support in grant applications, for a number of grant schemes that we run and are also a point of contact on statutory planning cases.
