If you're a lover of good food and enjoy eating out or staying overnight in a place full of warmth and history - then you’ll definitely enjoy a taste of the Abbey Inn.

Nestled at the foot of the Hambleton Hills, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and surrounded by views across open countryside and the ruins of Byland Abbey - we reckon, you can't get a better setting! The Inn itself is steeped in history with evidence of a medieval hostelry under the foundations and its beautiful stonework was 'borrowed' from the majestic ruins of Byland. Once a 19th century farmhouse, the Inn has recently been lovingly refurbished and furnished to reflect its history and now offers candle-lit dining with a menu choice created by Chef making the best use of the fine produce grown and produced right here in Yorkshire.

With just three romantic bedrooms on offer - all with modern facilities - with peace and tranquillity in abundance, we have recently been listed by the Daily Telegraph in '50 of Britain's cosiest hotels'. Romance and great food also means we do weddings and celebrations really well also! Our dining rooms can cater for up to 80 guests or a marquee in the Abbey grounds makes a perfect setting for up to 200 guests.

Good food and drink combined with great accommodation continues to win accolades for  the Abbey Inn.  The AA has given the Inn its top accolade, a 5 star rating for accommodation and service and awarded it one of its coveted AA Rosettes for food.
