Heritage at Risk: Buildings

English Heritage's role in securing the future of listed buildings is primarily to provide practical advice, guidance and resources to local authorities, owners and developers.

Ushaw Home Farm

Ushaw Home Farm – Main Block. The Home Farm at Ushaw formed the centre of the farming operation for Ushaw College and is a new entry on English Heritage’s Heritage at Risk Register for 2013.

Our involvement in cases is determined by the importance of the building and the complexity of the issues. We can help to analyse the problems facing a building, investigate the feasibility of various options for future use and also broker solutions.

Although all types of listed buildings at risk will continue to be a priority for English Heritage repair grants, grant aid is limited in relation to demand. Grants from other public sources, notably the Heritage Lottery Fund, continue to be essential in helping secure the future of buildings at risk.
