Former Roman Catholic chapel of St Charles Borromeo built 1835 by James Taylor as one of the first Catholic buildings in the country. Former place of worship for exiled French King Louis-Phillippe. Church addition 1880 by A E Purdie, a good example of unaltered late 19th century High Victorian church decoration.
