Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days, 6-9 September 2012, is England's annual celebration of local history, architecture and culture.

Co-ordinated nationally by a consortium of the National Trust, Heritage Alliance and Civic Voice funded by English Heritage and with the help of thousands of volunteers, the September event offers free access to properties and events which cast a light on what makes neighbourhoods and communities so special. Buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors, ranging from castles to factories, town halls to tithe barns, parish churches to Buddhist temples. It's your opportunity to explore historic properties not normally open to the public.

Please note that Heritage Open Days do not include English Heritage’s own collection of historic properties, which are open throughout the year and are free to enter for English Heritage members.
