Eggsclusive egg hunt terms and conditions

The promoter is: The English Heritage Trust, known as English Heritage, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 7447221 and charity number 1140351 whose registered office is at The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, SN2 2EH ('the Promoter').


2.1 The title of the competition is Eggsclusive Eggs ('the Competition').
2.2 English Heritage has teamed up with six top children's illustrators to create six unique, one-off eggs inspired by history. A token representing each egg will be hidden in the grounds of six random English Heritage properties hosting an Easter Adventure Quest event. Over the Easter weekend (30 March – 2 April), children (aged 16 and under) will be able to search for a chicken token hidden in the grounds/gardens of the properties. The child that finds the token will then take the token to the site shop to redeem their prize. There will be six winners in total.


3.1 The competition will run from 10.00 Friday 30 March (the "Opening Date") to 18.00 Monday 2 April (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.2 To enter the Competition: Visit one or more of English Heritage's over 20 properties hosting Easter Adventure Quests events during the Easter weekend. Search the property's grounds/gardens for a chicken token. Those who find a token should redeem it in the property shop in exchange for one of the eggsclusively designed eggs.
3.3 The Promoter will not accept responsibility for tokens that are lost, mislaid, damaged, regardless of cause.
3.4 By entering the Competition and searching for a token, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.1 The Competition is only open to childrenaged 16 or under.  Employees or contractors of English Heritage and any person directly or indirectly involved in English Heritage or the running of the Competition, or their direct family members are not eligible to enter the Competition.
4.2 By entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to claim your prize.
4.3 The Promoter will not accept tokens that are illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with
4.4 There is a limit of one token and one prize per person.
4.5 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize Competition.


5.1 The prizes are six individual, eggsclusive eggs designed by: Olivia Lomenech Gill, Grahame Baker Smith, Polly Dunbar, Lydia Monks, Ian Beck and Trisha Krauss, which the Promoter shall choose to award to the individual winners in its discretion. 
5.2 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.


6.1 The winners of the Competition will be announced when they have found the token and redeemed their prize. 
6.2 The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.3 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.


Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.


8.1 The Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in your Competition entry.


9.1 If you are the winner of the Competition, you (or your parent/guardian/carer) agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and town or county of residence to announce the winner of this competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes, including the English Heritage website and/or National and Regional social media channels.
9.2 By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the competition entry may be held and used only by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition.


10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.
10.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3 The Promoter reserves the right in its discretion to cancel the Competition at any stage.
10.4 The Promoter reserves the right in its discretion to amend the Competition terms and conditions at any time.
10.5 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
