The Government's overarching aim is to conserve the historic environment so it can be enjoyed by this and future generations. One way English Heritage is working to ensure that this happens is by commenting on and influencing Government policy proposals.

Planning Policy Statement 5

The new PPS has updated planning policy affecting archaeology, historic areas, buildings and landscapes. It replaces Planning Policy Guidance notes PPG15 and 16.
