The NHPP is now in the implementation phase. The Activities and projects are being taken forward through the Action Plan.
We will shortly be providing further information about the Activity Plans, including news on progress with the projects and details about how you can join in the consultation.
Resources to fulfil the activities in the Plan are primarily those EH already deployed in the areas of research and protection. They are much more sharply focused and the outcomes of their deployment are much more clearly articulated.
Current budgetary considerations have obviously played a major role in determining how many of the priorities have been carried forward into the Activities for the first four year Plan period and the scale of work that can be done within those which do form the Action Plan.
However, we recognise that the greatest potential offered by the Plan for improving protection may arise from increasing co-ordination within the heritage sector based on shared objectives and new ways of working in partnership. We hope NHPP will provide the vehicle for developing and extending such partnerships and mechanisms for co-working.
