English Heritage runs a variety of training schemes, ranging from an entry level scheme for trainee gardeners to a scheme for people who want to develop a career in heritage management.
The Traditional Building Skills bursary scheme and the Historic and Botanic Garden bursary scheme offer practical training opportunities. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Candidates are placed in real working environments, typically for one or two years, within English Heritage or in other heritage sector organisations.
Historic Environment Traineeship (HET) Scheme
We work with partners to deliver short courses for mid-career and entry-level staff to meet identified training needs and sector skills gaps.
