The role of ivy (Hedera helix) on historic monuments is a significant issue for heritage conservation in England.
This report is a write-up of presentations given at the end-of-project seminar held at the Geological Society of London on May 19, 2010. The chapters present the main findings of the ‘Ivy on Walls’ research project and related work on ivy undertaken by English Heritage, the National Trust and Natural England. Findings are expected to contribute to a lengthy debate on the topic and should influence future practice, management, and policy surrounding ivy growth on walls.
