The 5th Northern Lights Film Festival returns to the region on the weekend of 07 - 09 December 2007. Showcasing the very best of Baltic, Scandinavian and Northern European cinema, NLFF is at the Tyneside Cinema at the Old Town Hall Gateshead for 2007, with additional screenings and events taking place at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and St Paul’s Church, Bede’s World, Jarrow.
This year’s theme is Past, Present, Future, and across three days audiences will see some of the greatest NLFF hits from the festival’s history, attend UK and regional premieres of the newest features, and get an introduction to the UK’s brightest emerging filmmaking talents.
Alongside a packed festival programme at Tyneside Cinema, festival highlights include the international premiere of the Orange North Star Award Winning short film Trip, by talented new director Harry Wootliff at BALTIC, and a special screening of the stunning documentary Into Great Silence in the atmospheric surroundings of St Paul’s Church at Bede’s World, Jarrow.
