West Midlands Winter Events
This winter the cafe at Goodrich Castle will bring all visitors in the mood for Christmas - while brave groups can book a spooky Halloween Tour at Kenilworth Castle!
Goodrich stands majestically on a wooded hill commanding the passage of the River Wye into the picturesque valley of Symonds Yat. The castle was begun in the late 11th century and still boasts one of the most complex sets of medieval domestic buildings surviving in any English castle.
Goodrich’s superb new café will be open throughout the winter months (Wed- Sat 10am – 2pm). Serving home-made soup and cakes and hot drinks, it is the perfect place for groups to visit and enjoy some true ‘winter warmers’.
This year, to get you in the Christmas spirit the café will also be making its own
Christmas cakes and puddings for sale over the festive period.

A multi-million pound investment project started in 2006 at Kenilworth Castle, including two major new exhibitions, the restoration of Leicester’s Gatehouse and the Elizabethan gardens. Until its restoration the Gatehouse had been closed to the public for decades.
Currently, the magnificent garden at Kenilworth Castle is being taken back to how it would have looked in 1571 when Robert Dudley created it to wow Queen Elizabeth I on her visit. Due to pen in late spring 2009, it will feature a fountain, flower beds, obelisks, arbours and a 30 foot long aviary.
