David’s advice on the archaeology of North East London is based on his considerable knowledge of this area, having spent several years with the former archaeological unit of Newham Borough Council, Passmore Edwards Museum.

Before joining English Heritage in 2004, David managed fieldwork and publication programmes for one of London’s leading archaeological contractors. Over the past 18 years, David has supervised and published numerous major excavations in London, particularly along the waterfront.

David’s casework includes a number of extensive infrastructure projects: the Olympic Area, the East London line extension, Crossrail and Thames Gateway.
