Oyster pits in the Deben Estuary at Ramsholt

Oyster pits of probable late 19th century date in the Deben Estuary at Ramsholt. The Deben estuary still retains extensive areas of salt marsh, although much of this is now under threat from rising sea levels. The loss of salt marsh places increased pressure on the network of estuarine defences that it currently helps to protect.
