How Your Gifts Have Helped

Summer Painting, Brodsworth Hall "Summer" by circle of Louis De Caullery (active 1590-1620) © English Heritage Photo Library English Heritage relies on the generosity of its supporters to help fulfil its mission.

All donations and Legacies are put into the English Heritage Development Fund.

The Development Fund was set up in 1996 to provide resources for when urgent needs arise, for example:

  • to carry out emergency work on a property
  • to return paintings and furniture to their original settings
  • to provide more opportunities for education and community projects

Donations and gifts in wills are hugely valued and support special projects that would not otherwise take place. Our most recent newsletter outlines some of the projects this support has made possible in the last year.
