Housesteads Roman Fort (Hadrian's Wall)

The most complete Roman fort in Britain, Housesteads boasts spectacular views. Located halfway along Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland, there are magnificent ruins to explore – including granaries, barracks, a hospital and even a multi-seated latrine. There is also a museum, which shows how Housesteads once looked.

After visiting Housesteads Roman Fort, why not explore more of Hadrian’s Wall and experience the romance of this famous monument? Now a World Heritage Site, Hadrian’s Wall spans 73 miles of beautiful countryside. Walk around the many forts, turrets and milecastles that span the Wall, and absorb 2,000 years of history.
