Chesters Roman Fort (Hadrian's Wall)
Distance: 7.5 miles
There is much to see on the ground at Chesters Roman Fort, including the entire foundations of the headquarters and the luxurious commandant’s house, in a beautiful riverside location.
Birdoswald Fort (Hadrian's Wall)
Distance: 13 miles
Birdoswald stands high above a meander in the River Irthing, in one of the most picturesque settings on Hadrian’s Wall. A Roman fort, turret and milecastle can all be seen on this excellent stretch of the Wall.Robin Hood’s tree at Sycamore Gap
