Standing high on a dramatic escarpment, Housesteads gives you a sense of what lides was like on the famous frontier of Hadrian’s Wall. Commanding breathtaking views, it is one of the momst compelete Roman forts in Britain. Explore the famous well-preserved latrines, the commandant’s house and barrack locks, which once were garrisoned by 800 soldiers.

The best preserved remains of a cavalry fort in Britain, Chesters Roman Fort was built to guard the Roman bridge which carried Hadiran’s Wall and the Military Way over the River North Tyne. Discover the remains of the complex bath houses where soldier’s would have taken rest.

Birdoswald Fort (Hadrian's Wall)

Set in one of the most picturesque locations on Hadrian’s Wall, Birdoswold Fort includes a Romoan fort, turret and milecastle. Retaining the best preserved defences of any of the 16 major forts which supported Hadrian’s  frontier Birdoswold is also located near the longest, continuous stretch of Wall visible today.
