Facilities Details:
Cafe: fully accessible serving light lunches, refreshments and homemade cakes, all sourced from local Sussex and Kent producers.
Toilets: Toilets including adapted WC in visitor centre.
Shop: Wheelchair access via shop exit door only.
Access:
Access to buildings: New visitor centre fully accessible for all. Steps to enter all abbey buildings and ruins. Access around site via gravel pathways avoiding steps and often on slopes. Suggested route for visitors with limited mobility in guide book and site leaflet.
Battlefield: Very rough ground but may be viewed from Lower Terrace.
Parking:
75m from abbey entrance. Wheelchair users should enter the site through the Gatehouse (please ring the bell), where they will be met by a staff member.
Visually Impaired Visitors:
Audio tour included in admission price. One-mile country walk around battlefield and lakes recommended. Access to Gatehouse exhibition via steep steps. NB Crypt area has substantial drop; visually impaired visitors must be accompanied. Braille guide in English only;
Hearing Impaired Visitors:
Audio tour with hearing loop included in admission price. 1066: the Battle for England exhibition includes film with subtitles. Interactive audio tour available in English including Chidlren's version, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Japanese.

Group Discount:
15% discount for groups of 11 or more visitors paying together. Free entry for coach driver and tour leader.
Coach Parking Facilities:
No coach parking on site. Please drop off outside the Abbey and park at the Battle Coach Park, 10 mins walk away.

A Tour of Battle Abbey
Hear about the most famous date in English history as you walk around the very site where it took place. This guided tour will describe the Battle of Hastings and subsequent building of its memorial - Battle Abbey. Includes a tour of the Abbots House and Webster Portraits (August only).
