Carisbrooke Castle is famous for the donkeys who work in the well-house. Come along and follow the carrot trail to meet the 5 donkeys and find out what castle life is like for them. Prizes to be won!

A chance to meet the famous donkeys and find out about their characters, favourite food and who plays up at grooming time. Children will love the donkey themed games and activities including pin the tail on the donkey*. With donkey tales (the story kind), face-painting and the carrot trail, it’s a day out that will keep everyone amused.* no donkeys will be harmed in playing this game!

A fun look for the whole family at the most hideous and horrible aspects of history.  Meet the Singing Plague Victims and then visit the medieval surgeon to mix up your own plague cure.  Watch in dread as you wonder at the medical marvels of surgical procedures in the 18th century and get a close look at amputations and bleeding with live leeches.  Talk to the Victorian Tosher and learn about the history of the toilet whilst you help him search the sewers for hidden treasurers.  Be careful – you might end up with your face painted with the pox or even end up in the stocks!
