Dogs on leads (restricted areas only; not in visitor centre); Tearoom (managed by YHA); Parking (charge payable); Disabled access (south entrace parking, charged)
Access:
Access to monument and grounds: Via visitor centre; lift up to the grounds. Grass paths around the ruins. Steps to enter the nave. Benches. There are changes in the level and cobbled surfaces throughout the site. It may become waterlogged in wet weather. Please note: from the Whitby harbour area, the abbey can only be directly reached on foot via the 199 'abbey steps' (or Caedmon's Trod): alternatively a well-signposted road leads from the town outskirts to the clifftop abbey.Toilets: In car park, WC adapted for wheelchair users.

Disabled visitors may be set down by the entrance to the visitor centre; disabled parking in main car park and ramped entrance to site.
Visually Impaired Visitors:
Audio tour designed with visually impaired in mind. Included in admission price. Tactile exhibits in the visitor centre.
Hearing Impaired Visitors:
Audio tour with hearing loop included in admission price. Subtitled audio-visual displays in the visitor centre.

15% discount for groups of 11 or more visitors paying together plus a free place for every additional 20 paying passengers. Free entry for coach driver and tour leader
