The Farrell Study

Sir Terry Farrell Smithfield’s future success depends on nurturing what makes it unique. The internationally renowned architect and masterplanner Sir Terry Farrell has created a vision for Smithfield which identifies what is special about the area and suggests a series of principles that should guide new development there. 

His five main principles are: 

Encourage diversity and vibrancy
Regenerate buildings which help to define the character of the area
Protect and enhance historic spaces and streets
Respect and maintain historic views in and out of the area
Reinforce the architectural character of the area
