The Jewel in the Crown – 10 days from £1,670
Relive the colonial splendour of India. The classic Jewel in the Crown holiday itinerary reflects the bygone era of the British Empire in India, which Queen Victoria considered the ‘Jewel’ in the Imperial Crown. Throughout the centuries of British rule, the Indian princes or ‘maharajahs’ continued to live in their fabulous palaces. You will stay at some of the former homes of the princes, now sympathetically restored and converted into heritage hotels.
During your tour you will wonder at the incomparable Taj Mahal, and visit the extraordinary Hawa Mahal – the ‘Palace of the Winds’. You will also spend a day at the breathtaking Qutb Minar and see the wonders of the wetland bird sanctuary at Keoladeo Ghana National Park.

In Search of Shangri-La – 17 days from £3,280
The ‘In Search of Shangri-La’ itinerary combines the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan with the remote and spectacular Himalayan state of Sikkim. Your trip begins by heading to Delhi, and then onto Darjeeling, where you will get to enjoy the colourful bazaars, before leaving on Darjeeling’s famous ‘Toy Train’. The journey becomes more mountainous as you head to Sikkim, which was for many years regarded as one of the last Shangri-La’s, because of its remoteness and spectacular mountain terrain.
