Marketing of Apethorpe Hall by English Heritage’s agents Smiths Gore commences in June 2008. This is one of the most exceptional properties to come onto the market in recent years.
English Heritage believes that the most appropriate solution for the property is that it should be returned to its historic use, as a privately owned country house in single ownership. The new owner will need to demonstrate commitment to the necessary Phase 2 programme of repairs and restoration. Public access to key parts of the property will also be a requirement of the sale, to reflect the public expenditure on the rescue project.
