DISCOVERY VISITS - Huge rewards for a small charge

At the small charge of just £75 (from April 2009) per school group (adult helpers free), Discovery Visits are hands-on site-based activities which combine inspiring out of the classroom experiences with quality learning.

They have been specially developed to meet the needs of different groups across the Key Stages and can be found at a diverse range of English Heritage sites throughout the country.

Led by specialist educators and site staff and volunteers who know their sites inside out, Discovery Visits not only cover the breadth of English history, but also a range of other subjects across the curriculum. They enable students of all ages and abilities to meet characters from the past, role-play, make or handle intriguing objects, dress up and even crack secret codes.

Discovery Visit maps/guides are available for the South, East, West and North of England. Printed versions have been posted to all schools on our database and may be ordered by emailing educationmarketing@english-heritage.org.uk with your name and full postal address.
