Plan Your Journey

Sat Nav Image  English Heritage has over 400 properties across the country. It's now easier than ever to plan your day out.

Owners of sat nav systems can download our Points of Interest (POI) file to help plan your journey. These downloads are available for TomTom and Garmin users:

TomTom Users

  1. Download and extract the provided zip file.
  2. Connect your TomTom to your computer and turn it on. (If your TomTom Home software starts
    close it as you won't need it).
  3. Browse to your TomTom device and find the folder named GreatBritainMaps (the name of this file will vary
    depending on the model, but will always be distinguishable from the other folders).
  4. Copy and paste the two extracted files (English Heritage.ov2 & English Heritage.bmp) into this folder.
  5. Switch off or disconnect the device when the screen indicates it is safe to do so.

Next Time you start your TomTom you can include English Heritage properties on the map, or browse nearby properties.

Garmin Users

To load a points of interest file onto a Garmin satnav you will need the Garmin POI Loader. To download the software
