Donating in memory

Educational Visits © English Heritage Lindisfarne Priory, Northumberland,
All of English Heritage’s key education sites now have new resources for children and families
You can remember a loved one in a special way by making a donation to English Heritage in their memory.

You can make a gift to one of three project areas as a way of remembering a loved one’s particular passion, while at the same time helping the important work of English Heritage.

For example, you can make a donation in memory towards one of:

  • Preservation of Historic Properties
  • Conservation of Historic Gardens
  • Educational Programmes

You can also make a donation towards the general work of English Heritage in lieu of flowers at a funeral.

English Heritage will acknowledge your gift with a letter of thanks and can make arrangements for your loved one’s name to be entered into a Book of Remembrance, which is held at the Jewel Tower in Westminster, London.

Sandwalk at Downhouse Sandwalk at Down House For donations in lieu of flowers, we will both thank individual donations and write a letter to the next of kin thanking them for the collective donation.

Through a gift in memory of a loved one, you can both celebrate someone’s special interest and help to preserve the heritage that they enjoyed.

For further information about donating in memory, please contact Alexandra Gow-Smith on 020 7973 3538 or at alexandra.gow-smith@english-heritage.org.uk and she will be happy to help.
