Partnership Projects/Website Standards and Guidance

Any Partnership Projects that English Heritage is involved in which produce a website should adhere to our Partnership Website standards.

A ‘Partnership Website’ can be defined as:

• any site that carries our logo and/or
• that  English Heritage contributes resources to

NB: All Partnership Websites should have a reciprocal link with our main website at www.english-heritage.org.uk, but these standards do not necessarily apply to websites that don’t carry our logo or have EH resource but only have a reciprocal link.

Partnership Websites Standards

• Information carried on the website should be accurate, well maintained and updated regularly
• The views covered on the website should not compromise the good name of English Heritage in any way
• Views should not conflict with the stated policies of English Heritage
• The standard of design should be clean, clear and professional
• The website should adhere to WAI Accessibility standards, ideally AAA standard
• Application of the English Heritage Logo should adhere to the corporate guidelines
• Any description of English Heritage or the work we do should be approved by English Heritage
• Where websites contain chat rooms / forum, it should be moderated regularly and carry a disclaimer to the effect that the views expressed do not necessarily reflect those of English Heritage
