Christine Morgenstern – Sales & Marketing Manager:
Christine has been with English Heritage since 1998, and has previously worked in the hotel industry and for an inbound tour operator.

Favourite English Heritage property:
“Very difficult to say – it changes almost daily. But I love castles because you can really use your imagination when you’re there.  Kenilworth Castle is great for that, the red sandstone is stunningly beautiful, and it’s fun to visualise the extravagant hospitality and festivities that Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester put on for Elizabeth I at the castle.”

Most memorable Travel Trade Experience:
“Before Wellington Arch was opened to the public it was covered in scaffolding. One day we were allowed to climb all the way to the top, where the Quadriga is, which is a bit higher than the current viewing platforms. We were able to touch the bronze horses and get really close to the stonemasons working on the top of the iconic columns. If you wanted to do that now you’d have to have wings!”

Caroline Achton Friis – Travel Trade Sales Executive:
Caroline has been working for English Heritage since 2002 and has experience working for a niche-market tour operator.

Favourite English Heritage property:
“I adore our fantastic houses – Belsay Hall, Brodsworth Hall and Audley End House are just a few examples, but I could go on forever”.

Most memorable Travel Trade Experience:
“When I worked as a Destination Manager, a tourist wanted to sue me for the bad weather during his holiday! I am still waiting to hear from his lawyers.”
