Trees are an important part of the historic environment, and many trees are of historic, scientific or amenity interest.

This section introduces trees and avenues as features of historic parks, gardens and other sites, and conservation concerns. There is also a section on English Heritage's own work in caring for trees on our historic properties. The site provides sources of advice and standards.
