Trees at English Heritage Sites

  • Black Walnut at Marble Hill
Some have been under continuous tree cover since the 17th century. Management of sites considers the trees, shelterbelts and woodlands as important part of site management planning. Succession planting is established where appropriate to ensure continuity of tree cover for the future.
  • Royal Oak at Boscobel
English Heritage is responsible for the management of over 35,000 individual trees and approximately 160 hectares of woodland.
