Aerial Survey Outreach
The Aerial survey Teams of English Heritage based in Swindon and York have been teaching and lecturing to professionals, universities, local societies and the general public for a number of years. The format of our teaching varies from a series of lectures and workshops to intensive courses ranging from half a day to a full week.
As well as the more structured training courses and workshops, in recent years together with our colleagues in Research Department we have expanded our activities to include events such as National Archaeology Week, Festival of History and open days at English Heritage properties. At these we not only produce displays of current work, but also demonstrate stereo viewing, using both stereoscopes and anaglyphs, as well as giving people the chance to interact with spot-the-difference competions and jigsaws based on aerial photographs.
