Local Studies Resources Packs
This pack will be of interest to anyone researching their local area.
Whether you are looking at urban regeneration or local field systems, wartime features or hillforts we can provide aerial photographs of anywhere in England.
The photographs are copied from the National Monuments Record's collection of aerial photographs. These are mostly black and white vertical photographs taken between 1945 and 1985. Some examples are shown below. In addition we will supply information from our heritage database on the archaeology and listed buildings in your area.
Each pack includes:
- 3 aerial photographs
- an index of the listed buildings in your parish
- full listings from our heritage database on the archaeology in your area.
Each pack costs £15 including VAT. Please do not send any money with your order - we will invoice you.

Some example air photographs:
All of the photographs are of Rustington in West Sussex.
The 1946 photograph shows some post war building in progress - new roads show up paler. However, there is still a lot of open space in the West (left) side. Remains of wartime defences can just be seen along the coast.
Rustington Convalescent Home, designed by the architect Frederick Wheeler, is surrounded by open space to the south of the boating lake. During the war this building was requistioned.
