The Abbey Inn is steeped in history - from evidence of a medieval hostelry beneath its foundations to the current building made from 'borrowed' stones from the ruins of Byland Abbey. Now imaginatively restored from its origins as an 19th century farmhouse, the Inn has been fully refurbished and furnished to create a wonderfully eclectic mix of old style architecture with modern amenities and facilities.

We offer our guests a choice of three individually designed bedrooms - the Byland Suite, the Mouseman bedroom and the Kilburn bedroom. All with spacious en-suite bathrooms and lovely views.

Our award-winning* tearoom is dedicated to providing high quality food using fresh local ingredients. Yorkshire produces some of the finest food and drink in the country and we aim to offer you some of the best.

Abbey Inn is nestled quietly at the foot of the Hambleton Hills, surrounded by the ruins of Byland Abbey and beautiful open countryside.

*Winner of Attraction Caterer of the Year 2015, Flavours of Herriot Country Awards.
