Facilities at Kenwood

    Limited parking for cars only is available in the West Lodge CP Plus pay and display car park. Prices: Up to 2 hrs £3.00. Up to 4 hrs £5.00. Each additional hour £3.50. Disabled Blue Badge holders may park in any bay free of charge. There is a transfer service upon request for those with difficulty walking from the car park to the House and Restaurant. Free car parking is available on Hampstead Lane.

    Food and Drink


    The Brew House Café and the Steward's Room are next to the house in what was once the service wing. The Brew House Café, with a seating area, serves a daily changing selection of hot lunches from 12 noon including soup, salads, sandwiches and a vegetarian option of the day.

     A hot breakfast and pastries are served from 9am. Homemade cakes are also available together with a wide selection of teas and coffee. The café offers a range of food for children with a choice of cakes and ice-creams.  

    The Steward's Room serves a take-away menu only including soup, salads, sandwiches and cakes together with hot and cold drinks.

    There is a delightful outside terrace and seating area.

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. No BBQs.

    There are two shops at Kenwood, selling a range of art history books, Kenwood art prints and postcards.

    Male and female toilets are located at the house and in the service wing. There is an accessible toilet in the service wing next to the Brew House Café and at the Dairy Volunteer Hub.

    Visitors with dogs should familiarise themselves with Kenwood's Dog Byelaws which are displayed by the service wing toilets - (Dogs on leads are welcome. Dogs may be off leads in the West Meadow only). Assistance dogs are welcome.

    The house and its contents are dressed to be historically accurate.

    The beautiful grounds around Kenwood and its café are open for visitors. Enjoy these extensive grounds, which feature a large parkland area, lake, woodland and kitchen garden.

    There's plenty of space for children and families to relax, or let off steam. Kites welcome.

    A family trail can be picked up at the house and at the shop to help you explore the house and estate.

    Start your visit in our dedicated family zone in the Orangery. There are hands on activities to stay and play with to introduce you to Kenwood’s stories.

    Some traffic in the grounds (mobility vehicle and deliveries). Please also note there are no left luggage facilities at Kenwood.

    No photography in the house unless agreed in advance.

    English Heritage welcomes all photographers to our sites and we hope you will share your pictures with us on Flickr and Facebook.

    We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.
