Discover the legend of St. George, patron saint of both England and soldiers, as his story is brought to life in the castle grounds.  Junior knights will be able to join in, and the whole family can enjoy the celebrations of this great British legend with a feast of medieval fun and games throughout the weekend.

Timetable for the Day

11am       Soldier's drill - watch the garrison practice in the arena

11.30am  Kids shield and spear drill - learn how to protect yourself from a dragon attack!

12pm       Cheer on the garrison as they compete in medieval games

12.30pm   Medieval music by Dragon's Breath

1pm         Mummers Play: Saint George and the Dragon

1.30pm    Sword skills - hone your sword skills ready to fight dragons

2pm        Archery and firepower display

2.30pm   Medieval music by Dragon's Breath

3pm       Kids shield and spear drill - learn how to protect yourself from a dragon attack!

Throughout the day:

Visit the living history encampment to experience traditional sights and sounds, including cookery, the surgeon and medieval crafts.

Young knights and princesses can try their hand at junior jousting from 12pm - 1pm and 2pm - 3pm.

Hunt the dragon scales - a dragon has lost some of his scales whilst flying over Beeston Castle.  How many scales can you find?
