• Do I need to pre-book tickets?
    As tickets are limited per night we do recommend that you book in advance to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment. You can book tickets online or by calling Ticketmaster on 08444 539 077.
  • How will my tickets arrive?
    Tickets will be emailed to you and can be either shown on your mobile device or printed and brought with you on the day of the event. 
  • I can't print my tickets - what should I do?
    If you are unable to print your email confirmation it can be shown on a phone or mobile device. 
  • Can I book at the last minute?
    If there are tickets still available, you will be able to continue to book online until 12noon the day of the event. Please note that telephone bookings will close at 3pm the day before the event or 3pm on Friday if the event is on a weekend.
  • Can my tickets be changed?
    Changing the day of your ticket will depend on the availability. Please email to check if the day of your booking can be amended. 
  • Is there an English Heritage member's discount?
    Yes there is a discount for English Heritage Members.
  • Is there an Corporate member's discount?
    Yes there is a discount for our Corporate members. To see if your membership includes this benefit, please call English Heritage customer services on 0370 333 1181. Please remember to bring your Corporate Membership card with you.
  • Is there a discount for Art Fund member's?
    Art Fund members are not entitled to free or reduced entry during this event.
  • Is there a concessions or senior citizens price?
    Sorry, we do not offer a concession price for our Enchanted Christmas events.
  • Do children need to pay?
    Yes, there is a charge for children aged 5-15 years. Children under 5 are free.
    Anyone 16 and over pays the adult price.
  • What happens if I cannot attend?
    Unfortunately due to the high demand for tickets, they are non-refundable and not interchangeable.
  • Will refunds be offered if the event is cancelled due to poor weather conditions?
    If English Heritage have to cancel the event before the advertised start time then full refunds will be offered.


Parking and Accessibility

  • Will there be plenty of free parking?
    There is plenty of free parking on site, please follow the AA signs and directions on site.
  • Where will the pedestrian entrance be?
    If you are arriving at Enchanted Audley on foot please enter through Lion Gate on Spring Hill/Audley End Road.
  • Is site re-entry allowed? What do I do if I need to pop back to the car for something I've forgotten?
    Yes you will be able to re-enter the Enchanted event, please keep your ticket(s) with you and show them to the admissions team on re-entry.
  • Is it wheelchair/pushchair friendly?
    All trails make use of the paths around the properties, however these may be gravel in places and have a slight incline/decline at times. It is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, but can get muddy!
  • Can we book a wheelchair/mobility scooter?
    Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to pre-book a wheelchair for use during the event. There are wheelchairs available on site, however these are on a first come, first served basis. Please book in advance for mobility scooter loan by calling 01799 522842, these are available on a first come first served basis.
  • Are dogs allowed into the event?
    Dogs on leads are permitted in the grounds. Assistance dogs are welcome.


Opening Times

  • What is the start/end time of the event?
    The start time is 4:30pm and the end time is 9pm. Last entry will be at 8.30pm.
  • Our timed ticket is for 4:30pm, can we stay all evening?
    Yes, the time booked for is the earliest you can arrive on site, you are then welcome to stay as long as you like. We do however ask that you arrive within your ticket's hour window and do not arrive before the time on your ticket.
  • How long is the event?
    We believe that the estimated average time spent at Enchanted Audley will be 1.5 - 2hrs. After arrival you are welcome to stay all evening.
  • Can we arrive earlier in the day for the event?
    No. Enchanted Audley is a special event outside of our normal admission times. You are welcome to visit Audley End earlier in the day on days we are open but standard daytime admission charges apply. Please note that Audley End will close to the general public before Enchanted Audley begins. Any visitors on site will be asked to leave the property and re-enter for the event.
  • How do the time ticket slots work?
    When you book tickets you will be asked to choose an hour's timeslot to gain entry to the Enchanted Audley. You will need to arrive within your ticket's hour window and do not arrive before the time on your ticket.


What can I see and do at Enchanted Audley?

  • What can I see at Enchanted Audley?
    Walk the enchanting trail through the Audley End gardens and experience the gardens in a festive light. The merry installation will celebrate the vibrancy of Audley End's rich and varied history through light trails and projections.
  • What can I do at Enchanted Audley?
    As well as the light up trail there will also be rides and games in the stable yard, the toasting of marshmallows and an opportunity to buy some stocking fillers in our English Heritage festive shop. There will also be refreshments including mulled wine and mince pies on offer.
  • What is there for children to do at Enchanted Audley?  
    Elements of the trail are aimed specifically at children. Children will be enchanted by the miniature scenes recreated with dolls house-sized characters inspired by the nursery at Audley End and the lives of the eight Braybrooke children who lived there. A shadow puppet theatre will also encourage children to explore their imaginations through storytelling.
  • Are the stable yard rides and games included in the ticket price?
    No, the rides and games are not included in the ticket price, however charges will be kept to a minimum at £1.50 or £2 per ride/game.
  • Will Father Christmas be at Enchanted?
    No, Father Christmas is unable to visit Enchanted Audley due to his busy schedule. Our Audience with Father Christmas events take place at weekends from Saturday 25th November, see our events page for more details.
  • Will there be a Christmas Market/Stalls?
    The English Heritage shop will be open, selling plenty of festive delights including Christmas cards, decorations, foodie treats and gifts. There will be no other trade stalls.
  • Will the café be open?
    The main café will not be open during the event, however there will be plenty of refreshments on offer throughout the experience, including the toasting of giant marshmallows.


Please Note

Due to the nature of the event, there will be limited lighting in places around the site. Please keep to the lit paths and keep track of younger visitors. Paths are uneven in places and may be slippery under foot in poor weather, so please wear suitable footwear. We advise visitors to wrap up warm and the event takes please throughout the grounds with very limited indoor shelter. Please be aware that the river Cam runs through the site with large areas of deep, open water along the route, so please keep a close eye on small children.
