Please be advised that the Castle will be closed from 4pm on Saturday 21st October for a wedding. We will be open again from 10am on Sunday 22nd and look forward to seeing you then.

Experience a spectacle of speed and skill as four of the most masterful knights in the kingdom, mounted on their magnificent steeds, battle for good or evil.

Choose your champion and see who is victorious in this colourful display of chivalry and courage. Surround yourself in pageantry and marvel at falcons in flight.

The living history encampments will take you back in time, where you'll be kept entertained by the court jester and merry musicians.

Budding knights can enjoy their own hero moment as they test their bravery in the hobby-horse jousting.

11am - 5pm
Have-go-archery for all ages.
Children's activities including Junior Jousting and Melee.

10.30am - Merry Minstrels
Our minstrels Revellion start the day with the wonderful sounds of medieval music on ancient instruments.

11.00am - Medieval Executioner
Gilbert Savage recounts the nature of crime and punishment during turbulent times in our nation's history.

11.30am - School for Fools
Meet Peterkin the Fool and learn something of the history and practice of this most sought after job.

12.00pm - Medieval Falconry Display

12.30pm - Mounted Skill at Arms
Knights display their skill on horseback.

1.00pm - Meet the Knights
Get up close to the knights, have your picture taken and get your flags signed!

1.00pm - Medieval Executioner
Join Gilbert Savage once more for gruesome tales.

1.30pm - Nought 'Twixt the Ears'
Meet Peterkin the Fool.

2.00pm - Medieval Falconry Display

2.30pm - Arming the Knight
Watch as our knights get ready and prepare to do battle!

2.30pm - Merry Minstrels
Join Revellion as they prepare to perform the music and fanfares of the joust with trumpets and drums.

3.00pm - 'Fee Fi Fo Fire!'
Half an hour of Serious Silliness. Combining stilts, fire and the fool, Peterkin - what could go wrong?!

3.45pm - The Grand Medieval Joust
Cheer on your champion in the thrilling joust!

4.30pm - Medieval Executioner
A final chance to hear Gilbert Savage recount the nature of crime and punishment during turbulent times in our nation's history.

4.30pm - Merry Minstrels
A chance to join in with Revellion's finale by drumming along to some lively medieval dance tunes.

Please note the telephone bookings will close at 3pm the day before the event or 3pm on Friday if the event is on a weekend. Tickets will also be available to purchase at the event site on the day.
