Due to the installation of our new exhibition, the middle floor of the Gatehouse will be closed to visitors on Tues 25 April - Tues 2 May but the rest of the building will remain open. On Wed 3 May, the Gatehouse will be closed to all visitors due to a private event but will open on Thurs 4 May with the new Speed and Power exhibition.

Dragon slayers wanted! Discover the legend of St. George, patron saint of both England and soldiers, as his story comes to life in the castle grounds. Bring the whole family to celebrate this great British hero – junior knights will love the feast of hands-on fun and games, and history hunters of every age will enjoy cheering on our champion as he battles a mighty dragon in a quest to save the fair maiden.

During the day, young knights and princesses can try their hand at junior jousting and a childrens' melee. Junior jousting at 11.30am - 12.30pm, 2-3pm and 4-5pm.
