The fairytale stable block has been described as the "grandest surviving stables of the early 17th century". Open for the first time in decades - it is a fascinating addition to your visit.
Horses and a groom are in residence and you can get up close to the reality of daily life in a Victorian stable - in all its mucky, smelly glory. Plus, there are authentic saddles and tack on display and costumes to try on.
Multi-Media Exhibition - An Estate at Work and Play
Our multi-media exhibition interprets the gardens, parkland and estate and links them to the working life of the house. Hear about the estate workers from the 1880s including the gardeners, gamekeeper and groom and learn about how the estate has changed over time from prehistory to the present.
Cart Yard Cafe
Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with a sandwich or slice of cake in our delightful Cart Yard Café next to the acclaimed walled kitchen garden and stable yard - a welcome addition to the facilities at Audley End.
Children's Play Area
The Children's Play area has been designed for our younger visitors. Inspired by the surroundings of the Audley End Estate, and set in the Cart Yard next to the café.
