"It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot" - such were the words of Queen Victoria after her first visit to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Indeed no trip to the island would be complete without a visit to this royal seaside palace where Queen Victoria lived with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children.
Make the most of your winter weekends and enjoy a brisk stroll around Osborne's beautiful gardens featuring fountains, formal terraced gardens, a summerhouse, miniature fort and an intriguing Swiss Cottage, where the royal children learnt domestic skills.
Visit the house itself over half term 11- 19 Feb when guided tours offer an intimate glimpse into the private live of Queen Victoria and her family. Or you can choose a self guided visit any March weekend, or daily from 1 April.
