From 19 July until 31 August, we’re bringing Taskmaster challenge events to 17 of our sites, along with plenty of rubber ducks. With brand new challenges specially designed for us by our Young Producers in collaboration with the team at Taskmaster, this promises to be fun-filled chaos for all. From Pendennis Castle in Cornwall to Belsay Hall in Northumberland, Dover Castle in Kent to Beeston Castle in Cheshire, make your summer silly.

Medieval falconry

Join our expert falconers for spectacular displays of speed and skill as their birds soar and swoop overhead. You’ll also get the chance to chat to the falconers and see their hawks, owls and falcons resting in their period surroundings.

This October, step into the scene of England’s most famous battle. Witness warriors clash and mud fly as over 300 re-enactors bring the Battle of Hastings to life on the very spot where it was fought in 1066.

    Join Julian Humphrys of the Battlefields Trust for some spectacular views on this exploration of the site of one of the most dramatic battles of the Civil War, when in July 1643 the royalists launched a seemingly impossible attack up the steep slopes of Lansdown Hill near Bath.

  • Elizabethan Garden Tea Party

    Fri 25 Jul 2025 5.30pm - 7.30pm

    Step back in time to 1575 for a garden tea party fit for a queen! Join us after-hours for a celebration of the 450-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth I's visit to Kenilworth Castle with a glass of prosecco and cream tea served in the Elizabethan Garden.
