Things to do in July

July is named after Julius Caesar – significant in the rise of the Roman Empire – who was born on 12 or 13 July in the year 100 BC.

So it’s fitting that we invite you to witness Roman soldiers clashing in battle amid the impressive landscapes of Hadrian’s Wall country this month. You can also learn to build the ultimate sandcastle with our interactive workshops, and see beautiful rhododendrons in bloom in our historic gardens. There’s lots to explore this July.
