This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to join a new and expanding IT team focused on delivering innovative and flexible services and solutions that support the needs of our users and excite and surprise our visitors across a widespread and diverse range of sites.

This is a challenging and exciting role that would suit an individual who wants to bring their previous experiences to help develop this team into an IT Centre of Excellence for the organisation. Working closely with the Head of IT and other members of a small and highly focused team, there will be significant opportunity to contribute to the shaping of IT services for an organisation that has recently undergone significant change of focus and direction.

Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be the architectural lead for all applications in use across the organisation, mapping out the capabilities and current usage of each application, as well as interfaces and integrations between systems. You will identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve the architecture of the application portfolio to ensure that the organisation can derive maximum value from its current and future investment in IT. You will identify new solutions that are designed to bring maximum benefit and efficiency, developing proof of concepts and promoting these to senior management, ensuring alignment with the IT strategy. Additionally, you will also assume overall responsibility for development resource (both internal and external), ensuring consistent application design principles and development standards are implemented and adhered to. You will also directly contribute to the successful delivery of an ambitious IT strategy that will deliver robust services, drive innovation and enhanced visitor experiences across the organisation.

You will have a proven track record in a similar role in a business that was experiencing rapid IT change and high levels of conflicting demand. You will be able to demonstrate an excellent grasp of current Microsoft technologies and solutions but also be willing to explore other opportunities. You will have a demonstrable track record in designing and delivering solutions and proofs of concepts supported by a strong grasp of application development best practice. Demonstrable experience of TOGAF is highly desirable. You will be a people person with a strong team ethic; able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business inspiring trust and building great relationships. Capable of working independently as required, thinking strategically and innovatively, and able to adapt to the differing demands of our diverse requirements
