Joining our Estates Department as a Landscape Manager, you will be based in Guildford and looking after some of our most famous sites. The Estates Department is the heart of conservation at English Heritage. We keep our sites safe, accessible and operational for over 10 million visitors a year and we conserve our historic buildings, monuments and landscapes for the Nation and for future generations.
As a Landscape Manager you will be providing a complete and comprehensive cyclical and response grounds maintenance service to English Heritage and Local Management Agreement sites. You will ensure works are carried out to the standards required and that security, health and safety is maintained at all times.
You will have experience of managing cyclical and response grounds maintenance contracts. You will also be able to demonstrate experience in the preparation of schedules and specification of works and you will be capable of preparing landscape management plans.
You will have a passion for working with others and enjoy being a part of a busy team and responding to changing priorities. As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable building rapport with Senior Managers, Team Managers and all Estates staff.
As a natural problem solver you will seek to use your initiative to overcome practical issues that come up as part of working in a busy team. With the ability to follow processes and procedures you will be able to also manage the unexpected when it arises.
You will have a Degree in Landscape Management, conservation management, or similar.
