Overlooking a private formal garden, Cambridge Lodge is an elegant two storey Victorian gatehouse located at the exit gates of Audley End overlooking the cricket pitch. It was built in 1842 and is the perfect place to relax all year round.
Today, Audley End fizzes with life - from the working kitchens to the productive gardens and the popular children's play area, to the historic stables and magnificent house, complete with neo-classical Robert Adams design suite of rooms, the children's nursery and the Coal Gallery. Once the public have left you can enjoy this jewel in the Essex countryside, where the river Cam meanders through the Estate.Discover Audley End House and Gardens
This was our fourth time staying in an English Heritage cottage and we are always impressed by the tastefulness of the decor and furnishings and the overall cleanliness of the properties. Cambridge Lodge was no exception.

Staff at Audley End House amazing. I am a very frequent visitor to all sorts of museums, galleries and heritage sites and there is obviously a real ethos of friendliness to visitors.
