Built on the headland of the Falmouth peninsula the original fortress was built by Henry 8th and together with Mawes Castle defended this natural harbour and bustling port from its European enemies.  From the threat of the Spanish Armada to pirates and smugglers, Pendennis Castle has played its part in defining the history of Falmouth and the surrounding area.

The Custodian's House is the ideal base from which to explore this picturesque part of southern Cornwall, the Fal Estuary and Helford River with its rich in maritime heritage and stunning gardens.

Testimonial

The booking of the cottage was easy and the reservation people were very helpful and professional. The house keeper, Elizabeth, was very welcoming and such a pleasure to meet, she took the time to ensure we settled in and let us know important information about the area to make the most of our stay. [...] We also had the run of the castle when the visitors had gone, and were able to enjoy the views and grounds at leisure. The outside seating meant we could really make the most of the weather. Would definitely stay here again as the area was beautiful and a great jump off point for visiting other areas near Falmouth.
