Warkworth Castle and Hermitage
Warkworth town preserves a strong sense of its medieval layout. Warkworth Castle to the south was was a favourite home of the Percy family, Earls of Northumberland from the 14th century, until the castle was abandoned and stripped of re-useable materials in the 17th century.
